Team

Together we use our capacities as design-researchers to tell a new story about our bodily ‘products’.
A story that reconnects us with ourselves and our natural environment.
Collaborating with different scientific and practice-based partners, as translators we aim to connect research,
design and practice to bring this story into the world.
Sara Daher (NL)

Sara Daher (NL)

Environmental and social designer.

Sarah has been working in participatory, urban sustainability projects for the past 7 years. With primary focus on re-introducing humans in the ecological cycle in a revitalizing way, her practice has evolved towards forging an intimate and collaborative relationship between humans and plants.

Markus Wernli (HK)

Markus Wernli (HK)

PhD candidate.

Markus is a PhD candidate with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, researching the bodily role of urban residents in biochemical circulations. His designerly explorations into our agro-ecological potential seek to unleash the generative qualities from the vulnerabilities that emerge in the direct interactions between people and their living environment.

Eva van Strien (NL)

Eva van Strien (NL)

Environmental designer and researcher.

Eva considers design as a powerful tool to reshape the biosocial relationships between humans and plants. Her work translates into ways that question our perception and encourages to go beyond a naïve understanding of the intelligent natural world. Eva is dedicated to create a different approach to future design and well-being.

Thieu Custers (NL)

Thieu Custers (NL)

Bio-designer.

Thieu graduated from the department of Man and Food at the Design Academy Eindhoven, working to connect the field of science to people and nature. With design research focussing on the impact society has on our planet, aiming to make these concepts graspable and insightful, with a positive outlook on human futures.

Anne van Strien (NL)

Anne van Strien (NL)

Social designer and human geographer.

As an interdisciplinary design-researcher, Anne is passionate to connect science and design in meaningful projects that redraw us to our natural origin. In her work, she explores how we can become ‘indigenous’ (again), by reconnecting to the land, the soil and the plants.
